I myself was measured at 183.5 cm when I was 21 or 22 (not sure now, some of my cousins are younger and might beat me :) ). A bit later I noticed that wait a minute, it looks like I'm the tallest living man in the entire known (close) family, as my father began to age and lose height (spinal problem that was always there but he was never athletic enough to compensate for anything). But at that time I was as tall or taller than him.

I was about 17, hadn't even reached my full height. I only ever really met him after he was already in his 70's, he must have had lost height (posture?) at that point. That uncle of mine was nothing close to "frail", he was a tough guy, served in the war when young and was a career officer for a while after that. All of my relatives, my great uncle for example was considered TALL as a younger man and into his 60's at well over 180 cm (my other family members said they think he was taller than me). Lloyd is an old man now, 80 or about to be, can't remember.
